Sampling strategies and methods in soil, rock and water, mineral separations and physical characterization, theory and practice of modern analytical methods: XRF, XRD, EP, INAA, GC-MS, AAS and ICP, analytical quality, formulation and use of reference materials; laser remote chemical analysis; X-ray, gamma ray, neutron and luminescence spectroscopy in planetary remote sensing systems; space based X- ray and IR spectrometers, recent advances and case studies.
