Area of Interest: Polarimetric SAR, PolInSAR, Tomography, Forest applications, ModelingAbout your current work/topic of research: Unmesh works on application of PolSAR data for forest bio-physical parameter estimation. He has extensively analyzed PolInSAR data over various Indian forests and studies inversion trends with seasonal changes. He has demonstrated the first space-borne tomography of forests and developed novel robust PolTomSAR focusing techniques.

In details : development of new measurement indices to quantify the effects, signal processing techniques to remove the striping pattern created due to scintillations and estimation of ionospheric parameters using SAR sensors affected by ionosphere.

His work also includes biophysical parameter retrieval of different forest types in India and develop optimized methods with available optical and SAR data.
