SIFT based feature matching techniques
are being studies here for extracting features from stereo-pair and develop an
approach for fast extraction and matching of conjugate features for 3D
estimation.
Mutimodal Stereo Image Analysis:
One of the important aspects
of the 3D extraction from a stereo pair is the geometric relationship between
object and image space. The idea of trinocular stereo has been used in the
imaging of Lunar surface during Chandrayan-1 mission.
Research problem here is to identify and establish stable points in a stereo
models and then to use them for relative orientation of block of 3D models from
such pairs to arrive at best fitting surface.
